Major General Warren R. Carter was born in Winchell, Texas in 1898.right after college he enrolled in the air force. He trained at Kelly field, Texas. He went to his first air force position in February, 1923.in 1924 he returned briefly to be a contestant in aerial gunnery and bombing contest at Langley field VA. In 1935 he entered the command and general staff school. Then he attended army War College. After that he had a lot of offers to teach at different facilities. He went through multiple teaching jobs until January in 1944 when he was assigned to Brisbane, Australia where he was the commanding general of the 5th air force. He commanded different wings after that. In December 1944 where he moved to Nadzab, New Guinea. He commanded many wings and air forces there until he had to command a airlift unit to get the troops out of there because the war progressed to far this was critical because there was limited amounts of transport there.
